We are Mowgli

We are Mowgli, an entertainment technology company based around a simple concept - connecting people through social creation.

We believe what Abraham Maslow said is true: that “creativity is a characteristic given to all humans at birth.” Yet only 52% of U.S. citizens consider themselves creative. Mowgli awakens everyone’s inner artist by enabling creative expression through gamified applications. Our core technology simplifies complex creation tools into online and mobile products accessible to anyone.

We entered the music application sector with our first project, Songster – a social game experience centered on song building. Our intuitive interface and hidden tempo & pitch matching technology makes remix and mashup creation a hobby available to any skill level. Where mashup vigilante GirlTalk made loop-based mashup creation a phenomenal trend, we make everyday execution as easy as Deadmau5 says it is.

This fall, Songster is being followed up with MashupDJ, a tablet and web app based on the same core technology. But MashupDJ in a sleeker, more socially connected experience that gets users making mashups instantly. Through our partnerships with all major record labels and publishers, MashupDJ will raise the bar for how fans expect to interact with the music they love. MashupDJ is leading the social music revolution.

Here's how we do it

1. Good design is a way of life.

At Mowgli we have put together a rock star team of designers and developers who love music, technology, and design. Our daily struggle is to make these elements coexist perfectly with each other so that our users can experience instead of think. By consistently setting and meeting robust goals, we plan to launch a self-contained entertainment application that moonlights as a flexible, brandable platform in 2013.

2. Get shit done.

And then we make it happen, pausing only to eat $2 tacos every Tuesday.

What others are saying about our stuff

"For the TechCrunch remix contest, Mowgli wanted to drive many more remix submissions than would [have] otherwise been possible. And they sure did."

Tech Crunch

"Dr. Dre never had it this easy."

"…they can say that innovation still lives in social network games. Stop making fake farms…and start making real songs."

Venture Beat

"You can turn the song on its head and remix it to your liking before it even hits iTunes! Naturally, this means you should pump up the bass until your ears bleed."
